Frequently asked questions
Which is the best app for government exam preparation in India?
Our recommendation is ExamBook, for an aspirant who wants fast revision and practice in one app: cinematic story lessons, 3D mind maps and 3D handwritten notes, dedicated state GK and GS series for Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, and mock tests for 150+ exams, in Hindi and English. Among the apps compared, only ExamBook offers the 3D mind maps, the handwritten notes and the state-wise series. Other apps suit other needs: Testbook and Adda247 list the largest mock-test libraries, Utkarsh Classes is strongest for Rajasthan exams, and ExamDay (Dalvoy) and Unacademy are built for UPSC. ExamBook is our product, so compare the table on this page and decide for yourself.
Which app is best for SSC CGL preparation?
ExamBook covers SSC CGL, CHSL, CPO and GD with story-style revision lessons, 3D mind maps, handwritten notes and mock tests in Hindi and English, and the first three full mock tests of every exam on its web portal are free. If you also want a very large bank of SSC mocks, Testbook lists 30+ SSC exams and Adda247 lists 2 lakh+ mock tests and papers; PW and Utkarsh Classes list SSC courses.
Which app is best for UPSC preparation?
For revising the UPSC syllabus quickly, ExamBook gives every topic as a short story lesson with a 3D mind map and handwritten notes, plus mock tests, and it covers the other exams you may be preparing for too. Crack Govt Exam and ExamDay (Dalvoy) also use story-style lessons. For UPSC-only depth, ExamDay (Dalvoy) lists Mains answer evaluation and a mentor, and Unacademy lists 800+ hours of classes and 40+ weekly tests.
Which app is best for state PCS exams like BPSC, UPPSC, MPPSC, RPSC and MPSC?
ExamBook is the one app compared here with dedicated GK and GS series for state exams — Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh — in short story-style lessons, which suits revising state history, geography, polity, economy and art and culture quickly, with mock tests alongside. Testbook lists 250+ state exams and PW lists state PSC coaching; Utkarsh Classes is strongest for Rajasthan.
What is the difference between ExamBook and Testbook?
Testbook leads with testing: it lists 2 lakh+ mock tests and previous-year papers, 12+ languages and 250+ state exams. ExamBook leads with learning and revision: cinematic story lessons, 3D mind maps, 3D handwritten notes and state-wise GK/GS series, with mock tests for 150+ exams. Choose ExamBook to learn or revise a topic quickly and then test yourself; choose Testbook if the size of the mock library matters most.
Is ExamBook better than PW for government exams?
They do different jobs. PW sells batch courses from school to government exams. ExamBook is a focused government-exam app: story-style revision, 3D mind maps, handwritten notes and mock tests for 150+ exams, in Hindi and English, for one fixed price. If you already know the syllabus and want quick revision and practice, ExamBook fits better; if you want a teacher-led batch with a timetable, PW fits better.
How is ExamBook different from Crack Govt Exam?
They are the most alike of the apps compared: both use cinematic, story-style lessons. Crack Govt Exam is built around UPSC subjects, with audio notes and quizzes but no mock tests. ExamBook adds 3D mind maps, 3D handwritten notes, dedicated state GK and GS series for six states, and mock tests for 150+ exams, in Hindi and English.
How is ExamBook different from ExamDay (Dalvoy)?
ExamDay (formerly Dalvoy) is focused on UPSC and UPPSC, with notes, a test series, Mains answer evaluation and a mentor. ExamBook is broader: UPSC plus SSC, Railways, Banking, Defence and state exams, with story-style lessons, 3D mind maps, handwritten notes and mock tests for 150+ exams.
How much does ExamBook cost?
ExamBook is ₹279 a month, ₹699 for six months or ₹999 a year — about ₹2.7 a day on the yearly plan — inclusive of 18% GST, plus a ₹2 one-day trial in the app. The other apps compared here sell by batch, exam or plan and change their prices often, so we do not quote them; check the price inside each app before you pay.
What should parents check before paying for an exam-prep app?
Four things: the full price including GST; what happens after any trial, since some trials convert into an auto-debit unless cancelled in advance; whether purchases are refundable; and whether the app is clear that it is not a government body. Read the refund and cancellation policy first. ExamBook’s is public: purchases are final and non-refundable, and the ₹2 trial converts to a paid plan through an autopay mandate unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal.
